Meet TIA member Hidayat H., co-founder of TARMAC in New York, N.Y.

Tell us about what your company does:

TARMAC is the first AI assistant for carriers, helping them find loads and make decisions faster and more accurately by integrating real time data of trucking marketplaces and other trucking platforms.

What knowledge do you have about the 3PL industry?

I have more than 10 years in the 3PL industry working as a managing director for different shipping and logistics companies, including Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics. I enjoy the creativity part of the industry; by analyzing multiple route and transportation options and combining different transportation modes, you can maximize your profits and shorten the transit time. The challenges, however, are the decision-making process amidst the dozens of options and combinations available in the transportation industry and the heavy reliance on the human factor.

What features convinced you to join TIA? What are you most looking forward to using?

The Technovations conference helped me decide to join TIA. Seeing an organization imposing innovation through regular conferences. Also, I liked TIA Connect where different parties can write any concerns or questions and receive feedback and help from their peers. We are looking forward to assisting carriers and brokers achieve productivity and transparency in their operations by adopting latest AI solutions.

What has your company looked like in the last year? What will it look like in the next year?

Although we are a start-up, founded only a year ago, we have managed to meet different carriers, participated in conferences, built partnerships and integrations with big technology partners, such as Truckstop, and attracted our first users. We also have a very exciting feature, which will be released towards the end of the year that will be revolutionary for route planning. Our goal, with TIA, is to enforce transparency in carrier-broker relationships and boost the productivity of our users by leveraging AI solutions. We hope to achieve this through conferences and other events where we can reach our clients and offer solutions and feedback.
